Northfield Heavy Duty Shapers are constructed with rugged iron castings and balanced rotating components to assure vibration free performance. The 42" x 42" table provides room for mounting feeders and gives full support for large jigs and fixtures. Spindles are available to 1-1/2" dia. and up to 8" in length. TEFC motors to 15 hp can be provided. Under table dust outlet improves dust & chip extraction.

The spindle is machined from stressproof steel and is precision ground. The wide separation between the upper and lower sealed for life bearings provides extreme shaft rigidity when running large diameter cutterheads. The heavy yoke assembly with full length gibbed vee ways maintains deflection free bearing and spindle alignments.

Base: Heavy casting with flanged floor base gives firm setting yoke ways are carefully machined to assure full yoke bearing.

Table: Heavy duty, well ribbed casting allows attachment of table extensions, jigs and fixtures. Top surface is accurately ground - allows stock and forms to slide easily. Has fitted table ring at the spindle.

Yoke: Gibbed yoke, carfully machined and fitted into base assures absolute vertical spindle position through any adjustment. Precision ball bearing are sealed for life - need no lubrication.

Spindle: Rugged 1" diameter by 5" long spindle is accurately machined and ground for high speed production. Optional spindle sizes available.

Drive: 3, 5, 7-1/2, 10 or 15 hp rear-mounted motor swing on hinge to allow easy access. Has 2-1/2" endless belt drive with screw adjustment for close belt tensioning. Shaper is equipped with magnetic starter and 110 volt push-button controls.
